about mermaid kitty
once upon a time, miss birney, an art teacher, had a student request a drawing of a mermaid kitty. the drawing was a hit and became the most requested drawing from her students. miss birney is also great at drawing princess, t rex, monster trucks and rocket ships.
since 2004, the retired art teacher has lived in brooklyn painting, crafting and collecting mermaid kitty drawings. based on the request of a student to "draw me a mermaid kitty" miss birney has created an assignment for all who cross her path. she provides the individual with a pen, paper and the task of drawing a mermaid kitty. the project is about the immediate creative response of each artist and the potential dialog about the experience.
miss birney has accumulated a wide variety of mermaid kitty drawings, which she is excited to share with you.
